We are...While we are part of a larger denomination, each individual Church of the Brethren brings its own flavor to all things Brethren. This means no two congregations are quite alike. Some are more traditional, while others are more contemporary and, while each may be different, we recognize that together we make up a small portion of the greater body of Christ. Here at Crest Manor we have a more traditional worship service yet we are not opposed to many various types of worship. On any given Sunday we may range from contemplative prayer to praise and worship music. We feel that this provides opportunities for many diverse interests to find a way to worship God together. There is no dress code at Crest Manor and our members range from suits and ties to jeans and no shoes. And, while membership is offered, you are free to belong to this church as long as you like without feeling pressured to join. We welcome you no matter what your faith background and encourage full participation in all of our traditions. Our greatest hope is that you can feel comfortable in whatever capacity you might choose to join us and that by joining us you will come to experience the love of Jesus through us. Part of our goal is to learn together how we might more fully live out our mission statement...As a faith community and part of the family of God, we welcome all people and proclaim God's love. By continuing the work of Jesus simply, peacefully, together, we seek to be open for God to work through us to promote the transformation of the world...And, part of our goal for you, is to help us learn to do this more faithfully. As a faith community we believe that we are called to be more than a church. We are a family who ministers to one another and worships together in all that we do, whether we are playing, praying, working, or eating. And as a welcoming part of the family of God we seek to extend this to the world around us also. If this sounds like it might be a good fit for you, feel free to come join us or contact us for more information. The pastor would love to sit down and chat with you about where you might fit into our community. Give us a call or drop an e-mail at: crestmanor@sbcglobal.net Whatever you decide, we hope that the abundance of God's blessings become evident in your life, and we pray that you may experience the warmth of God's arms wrapped around you when you need them most. |
